It is a rare caterpillar fungus, which is only found in the high altitude of the Himalayan ranges in Nepal, India, Bhutan and Tibet. The taste is of mushroom, flavoursome, sweet and neutral in nature. It can be eaten plain or powdered, mixed with milk or water. It affects numerous human body systems, including the circulatory, respiratory, and immune systems, as well as the liver, kidneys, and sex organs. It is also being used as an adjuvant in cancer therapy.
